Singapore Hotel Industry Study 2008
Horwath HTL is once again pleased to partner with the Singapore Hotel Association (SHA) to present the results of the 2008 Annual Hotel Industry Survey of Operations for the Financial Year of 2007. In the eleventh year of the partnership between Horwath HTL and SHA, we received 36 surveys; representing approximately 16,666 rooms per day, or about 56 % of the total available gazetted hotel rooms in the Singapore market, allowing the results to be a meaningful representation of the Singapore hotel market. In 2007, the Singapore hotel industry experienced its best performance ever in terms of revenue and profit per available room. This report covers in detail the sources of revenue and operational costs, including both departmental revenues and expenses and operating statistics by departments as well as statistics relating to human capital and productivity indicators. It also provides the breakdown of these statistics by hotel inventory size, average room rate and location based categories.
